There are definitely articles using {{potential article}} as shown in Pages that link to "Template:Potential article". {{potential article}} no longer seems to add this category.

For comparison, Wikipedia's Category:Draft articles is populated by the {{Draft article}} template.

At some point we need to investigate the differences between using {{potential article}} and {{Draft article}}, which at the time of this comment doesn't exist on this wiki. --Peculiar Investor 13:56, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
