Justification for creating this page

  1. Some of the material presented here is copied from the Savings rate page. With a dedicated "Income replacement rate" page, the Savings rate article (which is very long) could be simplified.
  2. It provides an overview of the replacement rate method to estimating a retirement income target. This method is discussed in the "Conventional retirement planning" user page.
