Is the referenced CRA information on Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) incorrect? It states "Once a RRIF is established, there can be no more contributions made to the plan nor can the plan be terminated except through death." It has been removed with the edit summary "removed incorrect wording (a RRIF can be terminated through a fully taxable collapse, similar to an RRSP collapse)" --Peculiar Investor 17:34, 28 September 2012 (MDT)

I\ve removed "nor can the plan be terminated except through death", as it is contradicted by later phrasing in the same document -- one can withdraw any amount, even 100% of the account, and pay taxes on it. Collapsing a RRIF is a "termination", IMHO. Adrian2 06:26, 30 September 2012 (MDT)

A search of the Canada Revenue Agency shows that the RRIF acronym is used more than it's spelled out. When it's spelled out, I see inconsistent usage, but the majority has the term in capitals. I would leave the page in upper case. --LadyGeek 18:22, 13 December 2013 (MST)

Minimum withdrawals

Why do we have two distinct, partly overlaping tables for minimum withdrawals? This is confusing. Also, IC78-18R6 still gives the old percentages, so that's confusing too (IC78-18R6 is dated March 6, 2002 and has not been updated since). A better souce might be this one. Finally, I don't think we need the 2015 and later versus 'old' distinction anymore.
