Shortening the settlement cycle

Reader feedback supplied by Peculiar Investor:

the Canadian investment market is moving to shorten the settlement cycle for currently T+3-settling securities (equities, long-term debt and many mutual funds) to T+2, with the United States, next year on September 5, 2017. Could you add a note to this effect to the page you have on Settlement (http://www.finiki.org/wiki/Settlement) and cross-reference the links below? If you have any questions, please let me know. www.UST2.com www.ccma-acmc.ca Barb Amsden Chair, Communications & Education Working Group Canadian Capital Markets Association (CCMA)

Clear language

Reading the current finiki article may not help the average reader actually understand what settlement means. In contrast, the blog post at CCP is written in clear language. We might want to draw inspiration from that post to improve the finiki article. --Quebec 17:57, 31 October 2017 (CDT)
