Template talk:Investment styles sidebar
in the sidebar the title 'Strategies and styles' leads to the page 'investment styles'. This is not intuitive. I think the title should lead to nothing: it's just a title. The page 'investment styles' should be listed separately (and more clearly) in the sidebar. --Quebec 07:52, 26 December 2015 (MST)
- Fixed I agree and have updated the sidebar.--LadyGeek 13:09, 26 December 2015 (MST)
This sidebar was renamed from "Template:Investment strategies sidebar". I purged the page cache using "?action=purge" but the "v" and "e" links (bottom right corner) are still pointing to the old name. The page can be edited using the "Edit" tab, but the "v" and "e" links will have to wait until the cache is updated. --LadyGeek 13:09, 26 December 2015 (MST)
- Fixed there was a problem with the name parameter, not a cache issue. --Peculiar Investor 18:15, 29 December 2015 (MST)
Re-work or some other action needed?
In light of the rewrite of the Investment style article and the addition of the Investment strategy article, this sidebar no longer fits and either needs a re-work or complete overhaul. Any ideas on how to proceed? --Peculiar Investor 08:10, 15 January 2016 (MST)
- One sidebar for styles and one sidebar for strategies. The problem is that growth is both a style and a strategy. Although personally I don't think that using two sidebars in a few articles is a complete disaster.--Quebec 16:56, 15 January 2016 (MST)
- Instead of two very long sidebars, I created a navigation template: Template:Investment management If a page is both a strategy and a style, I simply listed the page in each category. The template is not included in any page (yet), as it should first be reviewed. How does it look? Update as you see fit. There is room to add another category if needed. --LadyGeek 18:44, 15 January 2016 (MST)
- Upon further review, for now I'd rather continuing the efforts to improve the various articles included in the sidebar. Most of these articles date from the beginning of finiki and would benefit from review and updating. Once that has progressed we may have a better idea of what sidebar or navbox would aid in navigation between the articles. --Peculiar Investor 21:12, 19 January 2016 (MST)
