Help improve finiki with our new Article Feedback Tool! We invite you to post suggestions about articles you read, so we can improve them together. Here are some do's and don'ts about posting feedback on finiki. The following guidelines will help you decide what to include in your posts -- and what to leave out. Your use of the article feedback tool is subject to these guidelines and finiki's Terms of Use.

Tips on posting feedback

Your feedback is more helpful if you follow these simple rules:

  • Be civil: When writing comments on finiki, please be considerate and respectful of others.
  • Focus on the facts: Articles are improved with facts that can be verified, not rumors or opinions.
  • Cite your sources: We welcome links to factual evidence from credible and knowledgeable sources.
  • Be specific: Write about specific parts of the article, with detailed suggestions for improvement.
  • Keep it short: Your post should be concise, with no more than 200 words (but no fewer than 10 characters).

What to avoid

Community editors may flag or remove posts that include any of the following:

  • Irrelevant, repetitive, or "nonsense" comments;
  • Comments containing obscenities, swear words, or offensive content;
  • Comments that defame the subject of an article, its editors, or any other individuals;
  • Comments that contain private phone numbers, email or street addresses, or other non-public personally identifying information, including your own
  • Advertisements, promotional or commercial materials, spam or commercial solicitations.


Note: Special software filters are programmed to reject or flag comments that violate these guidelines. If you get a warning, please revise your post as requested.

Also note that the site owners reserve the right to remove feedback when, as determined in its sole discretion:

  1. it is required by law; or
  2. it is reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of the site owners, its users, or the public; or the feedback violates the Terms of Use.

The Article Feedback Tool project (AFT) is an initiative of the Wikimedia Foundation. The goal of this project is to engage wiki readers to participate and become editors over time. It also aims to help editors improve articles based on useful reader feedback.
